Legendary singer-songwriter Garland Jeffreys returns to Minneapolis for a rare and intimate concert performance
Minneapolis, Minnesota - December 6, 2011 - Legendary NYC songwriter, performer and recording artist, Garland Jeffreys returns to the Twin Cities for a rare and intimate concert performance at The Ritz Theater in Minneapolis on Friday, January 20, 2012. Garland has released 13 critically acclaimed albums (including “Ghost Writer”, “Escape Artist” and “Don’t Call Me Buckwheat”) during his 40+ year career and his latest release, "The King of In Between" has been lauded as “an urban poet's masterpiece” (Steve Morse). His songs address socially conscious themes across a broad range of musical styles, including rock, reggae, blues and Americana.
Garland's classic songs include Wild in the Streets, R.O.C.K, Hail, Hail Rock ‘N’ Roll, Matador, Spanish Town, New York Skyline, Ghost Writer, Sexuality and his latest single, Coney Island Winter, which he recently performed on Late Show with David Letterman. Garland has worked with a who’s who of musical greats, including Bruce Springsteen, Sonny Rollins, Dr. John, Lou Reed, Phoebe Snow, James Taylor, Sly and Robbie and Duncan Sheik.
