Earl Kayoss - thoughts on “Observer."

"To me "Observer" (the 4th album from Life On Mars) has a lot in common with what "The White Album" accomplished for The Beatles. To Me "Observer" is the Life On Mars white album. It has 17 new songs on it. The songs are varied and range from ballads to some of the hardest rock you will ever hear and everything in between.

Special guest artists Scarlet Rivera (Violin), Zak Nilsson (Vocals) and Salvador Navarra on keys all gave tremendous performances on the album. Fernando Perdomo outdid himself with his brilliance which he poured into every song on the album. His skills on so many different instruments and his skills as an engineer on "Observer" are abundant and clear on every track. Mike Carr did an amazing job with recording engineering on the album as well.

"Observer" is full of recordings that I am very proud of. I think that upon hearing the entire album and then being able to see "Observer" as an entity, in its entirety, most listeners will find it to be a very impressive work. It took well over two years to bring the album out because Life On Mars wanted to do a great album for our fans. There's 17 songs on "Observer." Zero fluff. I think it's an extraordinary work." - ek.

From The Bronx, New York, prolific songwriter and musician Earl Kayoss has written over 700 songs. Earl is an ASCAP registered songwriter and his publishing company is Vindictive Cat Ltd. Earl released his own debut album in 2009 called “Disarray.” An EP titled “Nancy’s Finger” along with his 2nd full-length album “Beyond the Reach of the Infinite Mercy of God” followed in 2014.

Life On Mars

The band “Life On Mars” was formed in 2014 from a fateful collision between two worlds, Earl meets Fernando Perdomo (Jakob Dylan/Todd Rundgren) who is both producer, engineer and artist on vocals and most instruments. Earl is the principal songwriter, producer and artist on vocals, guitar and piano. Previous Life On Mars albums have also featured Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd/Blue Pearl) on lead and backing vocals and Ruti Celli on lead vocals and cello. As the project “Life On Mars" they released their debut 10-track album “Far” to critical acclaim in May 2015. That was followed by the 15-track album "The Resurrection of Ants" in April 2017. A third album titled "Trance Formation" was released in January 2018 and featured special guest appearances from Jamie Glaser (Bryan Adams/Jean-Luc Ponty) on guitar, Dan Crawford on keyboards and Gilberto Zanelatto on violin.

"A heartfelt throwback to the glory rock ‘n’ roll days of the ’70s, Life On Mars evokes everything that made rock music so special way back when. The dynamism displayed on this album is commendable. From pastoral folk to balls-out rockers, there is something for every classic rock lover. Essential." - THE NEW ROCK AND ROLL POWER OF POP RECOMMENDS.

"Phenomenally diverse melodic and progressive rock tracks... this is an album FULL of amazingly complex and yet powerfully melodic music - I call LIFE ON MARS "progressive soul" and that moniker really works well here. A musical collective in the truest sense of the word and every album they do keeps getting better and better... "TRANCE FORMATION" is VERY highly recommended." - David Tolar's EARS 2 U PRESENTS THE "TOP 30 ALBUMS OF 2018" PODCAST.
