Blood On The Tracks Live at the KO Band Summer Jam
The KO Band Summer Jam brings Jeff Dayton, Kevin Odegard, Bobby Z Rivkin, and Peter Ostroushko together for a free outdoor concert at Wolfe Park Amphitheater on July 1 at 7 p.m. This once-in-a-lifetime event pairs a KO Band reunion with Blood on the Tracks Live, a Dylan tribute band fronted by members of Dylan’s 1974 studio band, with a current lineup including Gregg Inhofer, Peter Ostroushko, Kevin Odegard, Stan Kipper and Gary Lopac.
In 1975, just before St Louis Park-born brothers Bobby Z RIvkin and David Z Rivkin earned international acclaim, they collaborated on David Z’s debut as a producer on “Silver Lining,” the second album by Dylan sideman Kevin Odegard. The title song, written by David, triggered national radio airplay and media interest. “Silver Lining” is being reissued as a CD to celebrate the band’s reunion on July 1.
Blood on the Tracks Live was formed in 1974 when Bob Dylan re-recorded tracks for his seminal album "Blood on the Tracks" in Minneapolis using local musicians. This group has reunited for a handful of performances, beginning with Dylan’s 60th birthday celebration at First Avenue in 2000 and a sold-out performance at the Pantages Theater in 2004. In 2005, the studio band was inducted into the Mid-America Music Hall of Fame.
The outdoor concert is free, with free parking available at the St. Louis Park Rec Center or at the parking ramps at Excelsior and Grand. The show starts at 7 p.m. For more information, call 612-817-8965.
