For and to George Gruel, aide-de-camp for Warren Zevon from 1978-1983.  Thanks for creating this wonderful book! As a lifelong fan of Warren William Zevon, from 1976′s “FRANK AND JESSE JAMES” to 2003′s “Keep Me In Your Heart.” He was one of the best! 

John Edward Charles III was born in Chicago, Illinois and raised in Fond du lac, Wisconsin. He has been making music for quite some time now. Here is a guy who doesn’t care about the trivial matters of self promotion or getting his name out there, so to speak, he just wants to make and play music. I can safely call him old school all the way! His music has been described or categorized as acoustic, alternative, folk, pop and/or rock but there really is no correct label to describe his offbeat humor induced lyrics combined with his own unique style of music playing. It is something I will call John Charlesesque type of music. 

Let’s go back to the night of June 19th, 2010. At a concert I produced for Ramblin’ Jack Elliott, a guy comes up to me and introduces himself, appearing stately, with a hat on and wearing camera equipment on both sides of himself! He hands me his card and we meet about a month or so after the concert to go over some photographs he shot backstage with Jack and myself. The photos were amazing and we have since become great friends! His name is Doug Webb and he is the head of Connect Artists. I would soon find out that he had been doing web and video work for Garland since 2008! He had also created an online fan site dedicated to all things Garland called Wild In The Streets! I had an immediate nickname for him and called him Webb on Web.
