From The Bronx, New York, prolific songwriter and musician Earl Kayoss has written over 700 songs. Earl is an ASCAP registered songwriter and his publishing company is Vindictive Cat Ltd. Earl released his own debut album in 2009 called “Disarray.” An EP titled “Nancy’s Finger” along with his 2nd full-length album “Beyond the Reach of the Infinite Mercy of God” followed in 2014.

Life On Mars

The band “Life On Mars” was formed in 2014 from a fateful collision between two worlds, Earl meets Fernando Perdomo (Jakob Dylan/Todd Rundgren) who is both producer, engineer and artist on vocals and most instruments. Earl is the principal songwriter, producer and artist on vocals, guitar and piano. Previous Life On Mars albums have also featured Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd/Blue Pearl) on lead and backing vocals and Ruti Celli on lead vocals and cello. As the project “Life On Mars" they released their debut 10-track album “Far” to critical acclaim in May 2015. That was followed by the 15-track album "The Resurrection of Ants" in April 2017. A third album titled "Trance Formation" was released in January 2018 and featured special guest appearances from Jamie Glaser (Bryan Adams/Jean-Luc Ponty) on guitar, Dan Crawford on keyboards and Gilberto Zanelatto on violin. A fourth album titled "Observer" was released in June 2020 and featured special guest appearances from Zak Nilsson on Lead Vocals, Salvador Navarra on Piano, Synthesizer and the legendary Scarlet Rivera (Bob Dylan/Joni Mitchell) on Violin.

"A musical collective that has released great album after great album for the past several years. The theme of "observation" permeates these songs, and the combination of the lyrical sensibilities with the power of this music combines for a sonic experience that truly satisfies." - David Tolar's EARS 2 U "TOP 25 ALBUMS OF 2020" COUNTDOWN!

"Unpredictable and exciting song craft. Vivid storytelling and meticulous guitar lines. Flows with both gritty and melodic sensibilities in its complicated yet accessible climate. A rhythmic and snappy display of pop-rock spirit. A calm, maudlin moment of bare beauty. With a retro-rock spirit to a busy execution of energetic and inviting songwriting. Life On Mars never out welcomes their stay, as a dynamic and eclectic formula of rock keeps us anticipating each subsequent track." - Take Effect Review

Excerpts from a review of the new Life On Mars album
"The Resurrection of Ants" (15 songs - April 2017 release.)
Album review by Don Valentine on his blog page "I Don't Hear A Single" (May 2017).

Excerpts:

Life On Mars is the collaboration between New York Singer-Songwriter, Earl Kayoss and Fernando Perdomo. Fernando has performed and recorded with many of rocks icons over the years. He and Ruti Celli are opening for Jean Luc Ponty on June 8, 2017. Aided by Durga McBroom (3 world tours as Pink Floyd's backing vocalist) and Ruti Celli on cello and vocals, the band have fashioned up one of those great 70's Classic Rock albums.

Kayoss's voice pitches somewhere between Roger Daltrey's and Chapman and it's when "The Resurrection of Ants" rocks that the album is at it's best and particularly suited to his voice. Perdomo's guitar is outstanding throughout, riffs all over the place, he certainly lets loose.

"I'm Alright" is a real rock out, with constant tempo changes that compares favorably with a lot of the US Stadium Rockers of the late 70's. The Guitar solo on "I Can Save Your Planet" is a revelation and Ruti Celli's vocal on "Technology" reminds me of Maggie Reilly and has a wonderful Ruti Celli cello solo.

"Get Real" takes you back to the Marquee in the late 60's, a real blues rock treat and Kayoss's voice sounds Peter Gabriel-ish on "Either Way". The ballads are suited to Fernando Perdomo's voice as on "Crying Time", which sounds so Alan Parsons Project.

"The Resurrection of Ants" is a cracking listen and Perdomo's guitar is up to 11 which is exactly how it should be. The album is well worth your money.
