Sleeping Our Lives Away / Original Words By Marc Percansky / Copyright September 19th, 2011.

I wrote this out of a deep dream-like state of mind on 9/11/2011.
I worked on it for a week and finished it on the 8th day.
I think of it as sleeping taken to the most extreme measures possible!

Sleeping our lives away
and we’re loving every minute of it
come along with us and get into
a dream-like state, no need to hesitate
let’s sleep away our troubles
let’s put a freeze on our worried minds and
sleep our lives away

She says “come to bed,
time goes faster when you sleep”
but that is okay as we are
sleeping our lives away

No one can hurt me
or tell me I am right or wrong
I won’t feel used, accused, abused, blamed or wronged
it is cuddly, snuggly and we can infinitely dream
while head touching and spooning with you it can be delightful, luxurious and euphoric
not quite like being dead, but even better, at peace
maybe even world peace when you are

Sleeping your life away
and are loving every minute of it
come along with us and get into
a stardust state, no need to hesitate
close your eyes and
let’s sleep away your troubles
let’s put a freeze on your worried mind and
sleep your life away

No insomnia in this room
none whatsoever over here
nightmares are not allowed
money won’t be an issue as the cost is free
no alarms and the time clock is wiped out of mind
not going to get sidetracked
you can keep your comments and opinions to yourself and you can be the queen and
I can be the king of the world no matter what anyone has to say
now lay your tired body down and throw your blankets over us
fluff up your best pillow and you can be on your way

I have done more than enough
to others, for others, good, bad, false and true
was I thinking only for myself or was it all about you?
I have got nothing left to prove
and I feel quite content
no one can touch, harm or wound me here, not to any extent
enough messing with my self-esteem
no tearing me down, no taking my ideas or inspiration
who is riding whose coattails? Who cares
not letting mankind rain on my parade
I won’t even have to move and I can forget about running away as I am

Sleeping my life away
and I am loving every minute of it
come along with me and get into
a dream-like state, no need to hesitate
I am sleeping away my troubles
I am putting a freeze on my worried mind and
sleeping my life away

Albert Einstein said
“We sleep 1/3 of our lives away”
which maybe true, but I got one better for you
let’s sleep it all away, I was told no one can tell me what to do
and no one pays my bills
you can do anything that you want to do
listen to what I am saying
you may learn something here
so give it a try and let me know how it goes?
the future can forever remain unknown
an everlasting love sure sounds good to me
I have felt great comfort in knowing
I will be rested and strong when the time comes
or as the proverbs say
“when you liest down
you shalt not be afraid
and your sleep shall be sweet”
so for now let’s just keep
